I understand but, given the experience RT had, I'm leery about causing additional issues for a user. By all means, if they want to try that then they can assume the risk.

Note that the Web Installer only installs 'missing' files and does not overwrite corrupt files as does the full DX Redist installer.

Another common misconception is that you need to install DX 9.0c to run older DX9 games. Not so. This version has been superseded by the DX Redist (June 2010) which has all of the DX9.0c files, and more. This installer is the best option if DirectX files are corrupted.

Hiya

Let's see what is here first.

Press the Windows key and the R button at the same time, which will open up the Run function, and then type in

cmd

Image

And take note of where the C prompt saves to. On mine, its C:\Users\My Name so, that you can locate the file after.

Then, copy this and then go back to the Command Prompt, and press Ctrl V to paste it in:

reg export "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectX" Epic Issue.reg

and press Enter.

Do this again for this key:

reg export "HHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\DirectX" Epic Issue second.reg

And then press the X in the top right as normal.

Now, navigate to the folder that it shows you on the Command Prompt

Right-click on the files (as in slect both together) and select 'Compressed (zipped) folder.

Then upload that here by clicking on the Attachment button:

Thanks

if you look at the bottom of this thread, where you post your reply in, there are some icons. One is of the paperclip, its the 9th from the left.

The attachment isn't a zip file, that looks like a System Information file. I've exlained again below but with more images:

Press the Windows key and the R button at the same time, which will open up the Run function, and then type in cmd:

And take note of where the C prompt is going to save it to. On mine, its C:\Users\My Name so that you can locate the file after.

Copy the below (the full line) and then go back to the Command Prompt, and press Ctrl V to paste it in:

reg export "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectX" Epic Issue.reg

and press Enter.

Do this again for this key:

reg export "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\DirectX" Epic Issue second.reg

Now, navigate to the folder that it showed you on the Command Prompt. Like I said, mine is my Users folder, yours may be My Documents etc

Right-click on the files (as in select both together) and select 'Compressed (zipped) folder. And then upload that as an attachment.

Can you do this for me:

Type [copy and paste] the following in the Command Prompt@
slmgr /dli
Press Enter on the keyboard
Please post a screenshot of the scan result.

That says you have a Volume License version of Windows Professional with KMS activation. Legitimate copies of this type of Windows like requires a corporate KMS activation server.
