I have 20 coiled cables, 3 feet in length, that look like telephone handset cords - but they aren't. The connectors are identical to the telephone line cords that attach to the wall jack and the phone. There are 4 wires in the coiled cord, yellow, red, green and black, that match the ones in a standard telephone jack line cord (in the attached side by side cable photo, the gray cable is a standard telephone line and the black is the coiled cable. See attached photos. I've never seen any telephone cords like this. What is the usual application for the coiled cord?

It doesn't fit in the handset, the connector for the cord that goes between the wall and the phone is different than the connectors on the hand set. The wall connection in the photo is not live, so I cannot test the operation via that connection. However, as I stated, the connectors are identical to a standard phone cord, wire colors are the exact same and in the same pattern. These 20 cables were matched with 20 small boxes that measure Air Pressure in laboratories. See photos of boxes attached.
