Alright, my dad game by the other day and asked me to see if Twitter worked for me. It did, and his question prompted the obvious question: "Why?"
Skipping the narrative a little, whenever Dad loads Twitter in Firefox, it just shows a blank screen and says "Done"; whenever he clicks a Twitter link it shows the URL in the tab, a blank screen, and again "Done."
We've tried clearing cookies, cache, et cetera. Nothing seemed to work. He's not using NoScript or any other script-blocking extensions, and he tried a Twitter firefox extension and that didn't work either.
I'm not familiar with Twitter; I don't have a Twitter account and I wasn't even aware that he did. I'm not sure if there's any scripts on the Twitter site that might be blocked or not load for some reason. He's using a rather old WinXP PC, I don't remember the specific specs but he has up-to-date anti-spyware, anti-virus software, and Windows updates.
Is there anything I'm not thinking of? Anything else to try, or should he just go through Twitter withdrawal and/or use his Vista laptop (on which Twitter works just fine)?
Thanks!
