Soundblaster left and right channels reversed

The left and right channels on my Soundblaster Live card are reversed on ALL sound output.
Creative suggested that I put the green plug in the green hole and make sure that my speaker configuration was correct, i.e. 2 desktop speakers, when I replied that I had done all that, I never heard anything else from them.
I have uninstalled and re-installed the latest drivers. This problem was evident with Windows 98 and ME, also with different sets of speakers. It didn't bother me with my old speakers, I just switched them around on my desk, but my new speakers will only sit one way. I'm sure there must be a way, in the software or even in the registry, to change the channels around, but I can't find one. Any help appreciated.
System....
Athlon 750, Asus K7V motherboard, Creative Soundblaster Live, Riva TNT M64 video card, 128Mb PC133 Sdram.

I'm not aware of any way to swap left and right.

The way the card sends out sound is based on a physical connector, inside the jack. If it is truly backwards, the jack on your sound card must be wired wrong.

I just took a look through my Live! settings and didn't see any way to swap...

Can you exchange the card?

Thanks Larry,
It's probably too late to replace the card under warranty, I think it was an OEM version.
I've downloaded the manual from Creative and can't find any reference to it.
What I will probably end up doing is getting out the trusty old soldering iron and either, changing the connections internally in my speakers or cutting the in lead and putting a reversible two way connector outside the speakers, but I wanted to leave that as a last resort.
I wonder if other people have got this problem and have just never noticed it.

Regards and thanks for checking anyway.
