Hello,
When I right-click on an empty space of the left of my
icons {lower right of desktop}, and click on "processes"
I see 7 instances of Opera running but only have
one browser running.

Also I see two instances of Windows Explorer
running but only have one of them open.

Just re-installed XP Home this morning for some
adware, malware, and other stuff including a dialer.

Even though you only have one browser open, a process will be opened for everything that Opera is doing. Opera has a built in task manager (You should find it in developer tools) It will essentially have one for the program, at least one for every tab and maybe a couple of others for any add-ons you use.

And Windows Explorer may be called in another program (Open, Save etc) so i wouldnt worry.

Thanks

CookieFluffy:

You appear to have a Dell Dimension 2400 desktop with 1 GB(1024 MB) of RAM.

Considering it has a low-end Intel Celeron 2.20 GHz single core processor, you should max it out with 2 GB(2048 MB) of RAM.

It uses 184-pin DDR PC2700(DDR333) modules.

If for some reason you need to do another clean install of Windows XP SP3 in that desktop, I posted a full list of instructions in your other thread.

I've been doing it on a regular basis in older desktops, so I've learned some steps and procedures that save time and frustration.
