Replacing dead batteries (ASUS laptop)

My laptop is an ASUS Q325U notebook PC and I've had it for ~2.5 years. It's still working great, but, as I understand it, the battery will eventually stop holding a charge. Roughly when can I expect that to happen, and what can I do once it does? Can I buy a replacement battery and replace it? I can't seem to identify the battery compartment on this laptop and I'm not sure where to buy one.

A few years ago, I lent an old Samsung laptop with a dead battery to my dad for him to watch movies on, and it swelled to the point where keys were popping off the keyboard and the whole thing looked like it was about to explode. I gave it to a tech support place and they said it was the battery. I definitely don't want that to happen with this one.

Thanks for any advice!

Laptop batteries can last anywhere from 2 years to 6 years. It has a lot to do with how many discharges and recharges.
I replaced one in an Acer purchased in August 2011 in March 2017.
The other Acer purchased in August 2013 seems to still hold a charge for 2+ hours so I'm not ready for a battery replacement just yet.
