Problems with USB 2.0/FAT-32 Flash Drives

I have a problem with accessing files on USB 2.0 flash drives formatted under FAT-32.
For several years I have used a Humax HDR-FOX T2 to record broadcast tv, which allows me to copy the files concerned to a flash drive via a USB 2.0 connection. However, the Humax box will only recognise flash drives formatted under FAT-32. Until about eighteen months ago, I was able to use this means to copy files to a pc in order to play them or access them with other software. There are four file types for each programme title, with the extensions TS, NTS, THM and HMT.
I use two dedicated FAT-32 flash drives (50Gb + 32Gb) for this purpose but, recently, the files do not appear in the directories accessed on any of my pcs (3 x Win 10 and 1 x Win 7). However, when I check the properties of the drives, the data is present, as are the correct number of files and folders, when compared to what can be seen by the Humax box.
Both operating systems allow me to copy the complete content of a flash drive to hard disk, but when resident on that hard disk, the files cannot be seen or accessed. Once again, the data, files and folders are present in properties. Files copied to both flash drives and hard disks more than eighteen months ago remain visible and accessible to other software.
Does anybody know how I can regain access to these files? Humax support is disinterested and I have been unable to gain any insight via other web sites.
Thanks.
