I don't know if this is in the right place. I am using an Epson WF-2860 Printer. The issue is when I request a print of a document the printer only wants to send it as a fax. It doesn't matter if the document is a word document or a pdf document, it still goes to fax it. I am using the printer wirelessly. It had been printing ok. I don't remember ever doing anything differently. Suggestions please.

Assuming you're using Windows 10, go into Settings - Devices - Printers & scanners and see what's listed as the default device.
It's my guess your printer isn't currently selected as the default device.
If that's true, click on the listing for your printer, then click Manage - Select as default.

Reading an old thread with a different model Epson but the same problem, the issue of Faxing instead of printing was solved by the poster uninstalling the printer, restarting the computer, then reinstalling the Drivers and Utilities combo package.

I'd download this first so it is handy for the re-install (Note: I selected Win 10 64 bit - if that is NOT your OS, make the change before you click the download button.

Sometimes the installer will install a print queue and a fax/scanner queue and it's under one queue, but there is a drop down.

I would suggest uninstalling and then only install the printer driver, not the All-in-one driver, just to see if that works as intended.

Here is a link direct to the print only driver: https://ftp.epson.com/drivers/WF2860_X64_263_NA.exe
