Thank you for the reply, I didn't see CRM in the list so trying to add a application but it 's got port range and translate to, not sure what to put in there?

 

If you care about the security of your CRM app and data, you will not do port forwarding to access this application. Doing a port forward is essentially exposing your CRM application directly to the Internet. When what you're trying to do here is placed in this context, do you still feel comfortable in doing the port forward?

 

Most times that we port forward we are only concerned with one port, but sometimes there are multiple consecutive ports to forward. Going on the info you gave in your initial post the (public) port range is '1122' or '1122 to 1122' (not sure what format you have to specify in your particular router). "Translate" seems a not-very-good term to use, but it must mean the port to which you want the public 1122 to be forwarded (1122 for you).

And somewhere, I trust, there must be a place for you to specify the IP address (192.168.1.67).

 

Terry, many times the configuration page for port forwarding also combines the function of port translation. Sometimes, an administrator wants to have a port number translate to a totally different public port number. An example of this is setting up a 443 SSL translation. I have a box which has a service answering on 443. However I want to use a different public port say 8443. So the translation rule would be [public ip] port 8443 translates to 192.168.1.20 port 443. Contrast this to a standard port forward rule which would be [public ip] port 443 to 192.168.1.20 port 443.

Yes; I realize that. Have done it myself. But if I were designing that part of the router GUI think I would use "destination port" or "device port" or something like that instead of "translate."
