MS Outlook 07 crashes - restarts

MS Outlook 07 send/receive works with all except googlemail. When that tries to send/receive, outlook crashes and a DOS window very quickly appears then the computer restarts.

I was going to clean the registry, so I wanted to backup, but had to erase disc first. When I tried backing up, the above happened again.

Now, I have no backup and I am worried that I will lose everything. The computer has been extremely slow for many weeks too.

I really need you help........please!

Since I have no backup of my contacts, I thought I would try to delete the all email. The 2 that are stuck in my outbox will not delete. If I try to open them, I get:

Microsoft Office Outlook: Cannot open this item. Outlook has already begun transmitting this message.
