Mouse Cursor turns to black line/dots

My cursor will randomly turn to this while using my computer(cursor on white screen):

Goes back to old cursor when I restart my pc, but very annoying. All drivers are up to date please help.

Are you still having this problem? If so, I'm just trying to make out the picture. Are you saying it becomes 5 black dots instead of the typical arrow?

Yes, the black dots in the picture are what my cursor turns into from the typical arrow. Problem still happening, not really sure the circumstance that cause it but I've noticed that it ha always happens when I am using chrome.

Two settings you can try to see if this helps in chrome:
1. Turn off hardware acceleration
Menu > settings > Advanced settings > Under ’system’ Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available
2. Disable smooth scrolling.
