Monitor says: power safe mode, off mode

hello all. Iv got a prob with my monitor.....

i was in the middle of a game and my monitor just went black and said 'power save mode off mode' then it went black again. i tried to bring it back up by turning it off and on etc but it wouldnt work. I was starting to get stressed so i turned it off by the switch (as if that would help!), waited a minute then turned it on again. My computer is on fine, but my monitor is on standby(amber). I dont know the model of monitor and it isnt possible to use a different one at the moment. Im using xp and i cant access anything on my computer. my dad ($teve) is out... so you are my second option.

Try rebooting and then change your power saving options to not shut off the monitor.

Sounds like your monitor became unplugged from your computer, or your video card died. Easiest way to tell is to hook another monitor up to your computer, or your monitor to another computer.

It just, works.

im gonna do a system restore anyway, cos its been playin up 4 a while now, thanks for your time, i probably wont b on for a while or so now, hopefully when i do come bac ill be a little more xperienced, lol.
