What shows if you click on the Presences button.
Also what shows on the Device settings tab.
I did b) driver for local connection and it successfully decompressed. But it doesn't say where
It does not say where because you have to
1) disconnect the printer
2) run the exe file
3) then connect the printer, it will then finish the setup.

No, I didn't install from another site. But I'm thinking:

it says the installation won't work if the driver is already installed. So I'm thinking why don't I run the uninstall tool that they have and then try to run the decompressor thing?

But I don't want to lose 1-page print to because right now the printer is a vital piece of work.

Also, I want to thank you for your help and your constant support, thanks so much

I was thinking about uninstall. But the chance of it not working is what was holding me back.

True, but that should not stop the software from decompressing.
What happens is the file decompresses then it gives the install option.
Because the driver is installed it should not stop the decompression it should only stop at the next step.

Are you able to click on the Duplex Unit Not installed to show that it is installed? I am wondering if the driver is the issue because clearly there is a disconnect between the settings the computer has and what the printer has. The D in DW means it's Duplex and your properties does not show that.

Since it has the W (Wireless, but also Ethernet), I would suggest try to install it as a network printer if you can to see if that makes a difference.

You can install the printer as a networked printer rather than via USB. Having said that it seems to be older technology so wireless may not be a good option but may work out. But that’s something we can explore later.

how do i mark as finished
How to mark a thread solved.
Above your first post in this thread, but below the black bar, on the right-hand side, you will see a "kebab" menu (three vertical dots). Click that and select Edit Thread. You will see a drop down in front of the thread title that says "Prefix". Drop that and "Solved" should be one of your options.

Real simple, huh? Who needs a dedicated button that does this in a single mouse click? ;-)
