Hello, I am trying to find a good TV, my budget is $400.
I bought the Hisense 55" Class - A65K Series - 4K UHD LED LCD TV from Costco for $269, took it home set it up, the screen was not crisp at all. So I will return this to get another? I thought I'd ask for help before selecting another.

I'd like to buy the TV from Costco, as a second choice Best Buy.

I've been using a website called rtings.com which essentially makes all TV's at the price range garbage.

Thanks

I've had no issues with my Vizio.

Thanks for that. I'm hoping to receive a suggestion or two as to what I should buy. This is so I can avoid buying and then having to return this.

rtings.com review of each of the lower cost TV's at Costco 48 inch - 55 inch TVs | Costco would indicate that none of their TV's are worth buying!

Are these subjective reviews, or based on actual tests with equipment designed to measure/confirm the specs?

Do they have demo TVs set up at Costco?
This IMHO is the important point

Even if Costco do not have demos set up, many stores do and you do not have to buy from them,]
Seeing the model you propose to buy actually running and deciding if it meets your requirements is I think the best way.

and also worthy of consideration of course is
took it home set it up, the screen was not crisp at all
Do you know for certain signal or streaming is all good.
Generally - poor quality in - poor quality OUT

Just remember, most stores have their TVs set up in a demo mode which boosts the color and brightness in an effort to draw your attention away from competitors' display models. It may not look the same once you get it set up at home.

I'm trying to read thru the lines of these reviews. Rtings.com provide a tech review, breaking every aspect of the TV down! Would anyone have good/bad experience with the following:

I've narrowed it down to:

The last 2 QLED and MINI QLED.

The living room this will go in, is about 25' long x 15' wide.

BTW what is customer service like with TCL?

@Nutech12, I have researched these TVs over an hour now, and the TCL wins hands down.
To start:
It supports EVERTHING.
Has 4 HDMI ports two of which are 2.0 ports and two are HDMI 2.1.
One of the 2.1 ports is HDMI eARC which supports ARC enabled soundbars.
It also supports Bluetooth, HDR10 and HDR10+.
It;s UHD enabled. Supports Dolby Atmos sound and Dolby Vision.
You can enable Bluetooth headphones even when the TV speakers or soundbar are on.
(Good for us hearing impaired folks)
This TV has a refresh rate of 120Hz where the other 3 are only 60Hz. Plus the advantage of Mini QLED.
It has an optical audio output as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack where you could also connect an external amp or preamp and speakers.
This TV is a 2021 model. That really makes no difference
I have no experience with Google TV but they say it's similar to ROKU and should have a few thousand free TV channels when connected to the internet though I hear the menus are harder to use than the ROKUs.
I have a friend that has a TCL TV from 2015 and it still works great. I also have NO experience with TCLs customer service, since I've never had to use it.

Heres the Q&A from BestBuys:

I also tried to find a better price but couldn't. In the end you have to make your own decision.

EDIT:
Let me add some more info for you. TCL started out as a Walmart exclusive TV and has since broken from Walmart and advanced its self hugely. The same for Hisense it started also as a Walmart exclusive and has since broken away from Walmart.

Hi, Thanks for taking the time to view the above TV's. The 55R646 is only available for delivery to our area as an open-box item. Not interested in the open box. despite what the guys at BB say.

I like the specs on the TCL as well. :(

Thoughts on: lg ur8000 vs samsung cu7000d ?

Open box means it was a display TV and only run in display mode and still has full warrantee.
Skip the Samsung since it doesn't support HDR. also doesn't have the 3.5mm audio output and only 3 HDMI ports nor the others I think except the TCL. Personally I would scour the net for the TCL since your not up for open box. I don't think you can beat the Mini QLED. Have you tried Amazon?

TBH, I've spent quite a bit of time trying to figure this out. Appreciating the specs on the TCL are greater than TV's a similar price point i.e. you can't get a Samsung or LG for those prices, I'm concerned that the customer support for TCL will not be as one would expect with the 'bigger' brands.
As far as Open Box is concerned a rep at BB told me these are items that are returned for one reason or another. Yes they do carry the warranty etc.

As I stated, I have never had any need for TCLs customer service, so I can't really advise you there.
Ultimately the choice has to be yours. BestBuys will also offer you an extended warrantee if you could afford it.
