Go to:
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\ then right click Firefox.exe and select Create Shortcut and move it to the desktop.

 

Be sure to right click on the "blue" icon and delete it.

 

Didn't work. There is no Firefox.exe in Program files\Mozilla Firefox. The wrong thing on the desktop (when clicked) says firefox.exe is not a Win 32 appl, and there IS a "firefox.exe.moz-backup" in the Program files. But a shortcut of it to desktop results in the same response . Now what??

 

Open program files, Mozilla Firefox and look for the word firefox, continue to the right and the file will be 6437KB , application and the date 3/17/05 (?)

Right click on the word Firefox and then create shortcut.

 

The only one that says "firefox" without anything else shows 2.64mb and a date of 12/17/05. That is the same one that doesn't work. FYI when I click on Properties, it shows is was modified yesterday (which is when it disappeared). Do you think the whole kitten-caboodle is gone? (Thanks for your assistance and sorry I'm such an air-head.)

 

Go here and download lastest version of Firefox and save it to the desktop or other location, but do not run it.
Then go to the Control Panel and uninstall Firefox. Next go to:
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox and delete the folder. Reinstall Firefox.
