PC) Omen 25L

When I boot up I first get a screen to write in my BitLocker Recovery key, however when I do it doesn’t even work, it just restarts. When I click ESC for more recovery options I get send to a new bluescreen

“there are no BitLocker recovery options on your PC

You’ll need to use recovery tools like USB and disc (etc. etc)

Press enter to try again
press F8 for startup settings
Press esc for UEFI FIRMWARE SETTINGS
Press F1 for Recovery Environment”

when I press esc, I get sent to the Omen BIOS. Once I start to go to Boot Menu it gives me three options that do nothing except for the one that leads me to a dead end unless I restart the pc. “Boot device not found.(3F0). if I press F1 for recover environment it just resets

What is the serial number of your HP Omen 25L? (this is to identify the machine so I can look at the service manual/user guides)

I think you have two issues going on. One, you have BitLocker kicking in due to some change to your computer (BIOS update?) and two, your Windows OS is corrupt. I assume you have data on the computer that you will need?

You will need to create a Windows 11 USB boot stick with the media creation tool. Once you create it, and boot into the USB stick (which you should be able to press the Boot Menu key before it hits BitLocker. This is either the ESC key or F11 key. If you are able to get to the boot menu, then select the USB drive. You still may need to key in the Recovery Key before getting to the boot menu.

From there you use the Repair your PC option on the bottom left, then use Command Prompt in the Advanced Options. From here I would suspend BitLocker, which may need the Recovery Key. The command will be:

manage-bde -protectors -disable C: -RebootCount 0

This will prevent BitLocker from enabling until you resume the encryption manually. From here, you should be able to reboot and see if it will prompt you for anything, or if it will go into Windows. I typically see the BitLocker key show if someone updates the BIOS before suspending BitLocker. I assume that since you are on Windows 11, then BitLocker is automatically enabled.

Sorry for the late reply, been busy with school. I got myself a USB stick, and Windows is in the installation program. However, for some reason when I try to find a drive to download Windows on, the original "Broken" Drive won't show up, and I dont know how to reset it either. Ive made it auto boot on the USB, but if i boot on the original drive it still has the blue screen. Is it possible so solve this?

Additional info: Its an m.2 drive. I dont care if i lose data, i just dont want to lose all that storage.
