My system: HP Laptop with XP Home

Whenver I try to view emails from South Korea, all I see is a bunch of mixed up symbols. I have the Korean IME installed on my PC.

Any fixes that I can put in so that I can view emails from Korea and be able to see the Korean letters???

Thanks!
Alan

how are you viewing emails,

if web based in ie then tools/options/general tab and make sure either user defined or korean is specified

if in OE then tools/options/read/fonts/set user defined or korean

I have mine on user defined and have no trouble with any language or script including korean/chinese/japanes/thai and greek without the ime installed

you do have to make sure you haveva font installed that has those characters in it

which is either ariel unicode ms or batang

Derek:

Thanks for the info! Here's what I've got....

In IE (Version 6.0) under tools/options/general/font...

1) Language Script: Korean.... for web page fonts I have Batang, GulimChe and UWKMJF (KSC); for plain text font I have GulimChe.

2) Language Script: User Defined... for web page fonts I have Batang, GulimChe, and UWKMJF (KSC); for plain text font I have GulimChe

In IE (Vesion 6.0) uner tools/options/general/language... I also have Korean [ko] listed in the language listings....

Yet still I am unable to view emails in Korean correctly.....

Thanks,
Alan

Thanks for the reply sekirt! I have in fact gone to Yahoo's help service but let's just say that it was not helpful at all to say the least. I've also logged into Yahoo via the Korean version of Yahoo and that did not help at all either. Thanks for your help!!

Umm, I really don't know so i probably shouldn't respond but here goes anyways.

since you're running xp, you probably using internet explorer, have you update internet explorer recently? i'd go to the windows update page and see if you should update- language support applications are usually part of the updates

but again - i don't really know
