Hi everyone, I am having trouble booting my dell past the bios. I bought some new memory and after trying it to see if it works me pc wont boot past the bios. If I soft reset it three times it brings me to the screen saying it has failed booting past the hdsk point. THen if I let it sit for a minute I can then strike f1 and then boot into windows. The computer is a Dell Dimension 4550. Is this possibly a hard disk problem and if so can I fix it by reformatting and reinstalling windows?:( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Hey Rich M. THanks for the reply. Yeah it was booting with the new memory fine. I bought it on ebay and I was just checking it to see if it worked. However I have since not had any problems once i disconnected and reconnected all the ide cables. SO I am not experienced enough to know what the hell I did. BUt so far so good anyway. Thanks.
