Adobe Error 1406

When I tried to re-install Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0 got error message.

Adobe Acrobat 7.0
Error 1406. Could not write value InprocServer32 to key \CLSID\{47833539-D0C5-4125-9FA8-0819E2EAAC93}\InprocServer32. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

went into the registry and deleted all instance of Adobe and tried again, did not work. Checked to see if any security programs are blocking me from install the application, nothing that stands out.

I am loosing hairs over this error.

Your error is likely caused by the InprocServer32 registry key having READ rather than FULL CONTROL permission. I have posted a solution to the Adobe problem at:

You will need to slightly adapt my solution to your problem, but the principles in my writeup are easily applied to your problem.

If you are still having this problem , shutdown Web root Spy sweeper from the system tray and resume / begin installation.

We get the same error when we install Office too. Seen it several times.
