(please move if this is the wrong place to ask this question)
i'm trying to help my friend with his webcam
yesterday he was able to chat w/webcam on yahoo messenger without any problem, today he can't see or be seen (he can still send and receive messages)
a message saying that the "webcam is behind firewall"
is there a setting in yahoo messenger or zonealarm that will enable him to freely use the webcam
my confusion is why all the sudden zonealarm will block his webcam!

Found this at Yahoo! Help:

WebCam Help:
Please make sure you are using the No proxies connection setting.
To select this setting:

Click the Messenger menu in Messenger and select Preferences.

Click the Connection category.

Select the No proxies option.

Click the OK button at the bottom of the window.

Close Messenger completely and start the program again. This should eliminate the error message.
If you are unable to connect using the No proxies option, you might not have the ability to use the Webcam feature.

Your firewall must permit outgoing TCP connections on port 5100. Please make the following changes to your firewall:

Protocol: TCP

Server: webcam.yahoo.com

Port: 5100

I'm not too familiar with ZA but there must be an option somewhere that you can customize the firewall settings.

I'm not positive if you can open ports with the Free version, you made need Pro for that.

You might more have success by lowering his Internet Security slider to Medium.
