Hello, im sorda new to linux and in trying to run a Counter-Strike server and i downloaded on of the files but it was a .bin can someone please tell me how to unzip a .bin, please and thank you:confused: :confused:

Ok well if the file is executable how come it does nothing when i try to open it, yesterday it said that ther was not a viewer for the file or something of that sort, but now it jus does nothing?? is ther a program i need to d/l to view .bin files.:confused: :confused:

in the console just run the file by chaning to it's directory and typing "./filename.bin"

Ahh thank you alot, but now it says that Premision is denied i am logged on as root then i loged in under a regular name and looged in as SU still got premission denied -please help

Try checking the permissions on the file with ls -l filename.bin. You should see something like:

rwx-rw-rw. If you see (instead) rw-rw-rw or something similar (i.e., no 'x' in the permissions) then try (as root) chmod 755 filename.bin and then try executing it.
