Yahoo Mail Not Receiving Emails

1682 Views 9 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  AmyToo
I have an old Yahoo email account set up just to be linked with my Facebook but a while ago I blocked the Facebook email address so that I would stop receiving notifications every time there was activity on my account. Fast forward a few months and I have forgotten my Facebook password and I have to send a reset password email to my Yahoo account. I went onto my Yahoo account settings and removed the block on Facebook emails but I am still not receiving them. I have checked the spam and deleted folders and there is nothing there and there is no filters set up in the settings. I haven't been able to access my Facebook account for over a week and its driving me mad as it was set up years ago and this email account is the only backup option I have on it. I also cannot reset the password on my phone without knowing my current password which obviously I don't. Facebook have told me that if I cannot access this email account then they will deactivate my account and they aren't helpful if I cannot follow the traditional reset method. Please help!

Is your Yahoo! account receiving messages from other sources?

Yes I am receiving all other emails
My only thought is that maybe it takes some time for blocks or un-blocks to actually take effect. But if you removed the block a week ago that's not at all likely the problem.

That is what I thought originally, unfortunately I can't even access Yahoo technical support because you have to pay premium to speak to an actual person.
How did you block emails from Facebook?

I had literally just added it as a blocked address
Yahoo says the sender isn't notified of blocking.

Unfortunately there's not much you can do to access Facebook if the automated recovery process doesn't work. I think there's a manual process, but that will probably be delayed right now due to COVID-19.

If you get account access back, change notification settings in Facebook instead of blocking emails in Yahoo, and set up 2-factor authentication.

The strange part is that I do have two factor authentication fully set up and I have used it many times, I can see all the settings on it on my phone in which I still have access through the app, I just cannot get it to connect with my laptop despite having worked before
If the problem is only with the laptop, then that's a different problem.

Try clearing temp files, try a different browser, try private or incognito mode.
