After installing sp2 for XP pro, I've discovered that while my administrator account has no problems, my regular user account has explorer.exe issues plus another curiosity. (Also, the guest account has the same problems.)

Specifically, explorer.exe eats up nearly all the memory (recall, for the regular user only) and thus everything is extremely slow. Also, the taskbar fills up about half of the screen (and no, I have not accidentally resized it).

I've searched and searched to find someone with this same problem, but to no avail. I've found explorer memory issues, but not admin vs. regular user explorer issues. The fixes recommended for the explorer problem have not worked. I've stoped/restarted explorer, made a registry change, but nothing.

I've run all the spyware/malware search software and have cleared everything. (I've even run Microsoft's beta spyware search software.)

Thanks for any help/advice.
