Quick question.

Our motherboard is giving up and we are going to repace it. At the same time we will also replace the hard drive. We will probably keep our old hard drive as slave so that we can slowly transfer our data to the new drive. We have a full version of XP home edition. Are we going to be able to activate it on the new harddrive/motherboard. It has only been used once on our existing computer.

Quick answer apprciated as we have to take it the computer store tonoight.

Thanks

In all likely hood -- yes.

But there are some exceptions -- see this article:

The exception is an OEM motherboard which is replaced with the exact model.
