The purchae of an OEM licence for Windows XP Pro needs to be accompanied with a "nonperipheral computer hardware component".

I presume this can include buying the hard drive on which I am going to install the OS?

I've seen them shipped with stuff like IDE cables. :) Don't know if that's legal, but it's certainly done.

Thanks guys.

I used to be clued up on all the Microsoft licencing. My last company got round it by just buying a mouse by the manufacturers have clamped down on large resellers doing this.
