My computer is automatically logging in a user that isn't here anymore.

Windows screen comes up, username and password are greyed out with the old users info, and pc logs on.

I've tried deleting user from User Accounts in Control Panel and setting to require a user to choose his/her name from the list, but then pc locks up because the original user is still being logged in automatically. I imagine maybe its a setting in the registry, but not sure where to go for this.

Does any of this make sense? HELP!

Ok, in NT4 and 2000 you could go to:
HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon
Change the value of AutoAdminLogon from 1 to 0 (zero)

As alway, back up ypur registry before making any changes
