Windows boots as normal but as soon as you hit enter after typing in your password for any of the user accounts the pc locks/freezes up. Only thing to do is to reboot system. And ctrl+alt+delete wont even work for that must physically reboot pc. Any suggestions.

As a test, what happens if you boot to safe mode and log in.

If that works you might want to:

1. Run MSCONFIG and remove any apps from starting automatically that you don't need.

2. Run several good spyware removal programs such as Spybot, Ad-Aware and Spysweeper
