Hello All,


I currently installed windows XP home on the following PC.

AMD Athlon XP 2800
1GB Ram
Nvidia 6600 LE
80GB HDD

I can install windows just fine. However during the installation process windows reboots for its second time. The windows Splash screen appears with the normal blue bar but at that screen it freezes. The Blue bar doesn't move and nothing else happens. I tried resetting. It happens again at the windows loading screen. When I tried to reinstall again it gets up to the part where you are at the Windows loading screen with blue bar and freezes again. It does this with different types of Ram, and any graphics card. ATI or Nividia of varying generations (6600, 9800 etc). I do not know what is causing this. Please help.

Any USB devices attached? . . . including Keyboard and/or mouse?

Yes the USB keyboard I have want me to switch to a PS/2 one and try again?

Yea i switched to PS/2 and it still locked up at windows loading screen with blue bar

How long are you waiting . . sometimes it can take a while to sort itself out at first boot

i am waiting like 15 minutes between tries.....

would a ethernet connection plugged in be causing this?

Not a good idea to have an eathernet connected . . and try letting it sit for an hour or so
