I have XP Prof. Was trying to tidy up desk top by removing office block icons to leave Word and XL only as I do not use other programmes.

Now XL will not load & I get an error message: "The path D:\office XP a\PROPLUS.MSI cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location & try again,or try to find the installation package.
PROPLUS.MSI in a folder from which you can install the product M/S OFFICE XP PROFESSIONAL with front page".

"Error code: Ox 8024002D"

I bought the computer May 2005 and have been using XL listing my son's record collection, now I am unable to locate it.

Advice please, I am a 76 year old pensioner.

sinilar issue i had was this happened when i tidied up my fonts but i did do aback up and solved this,try booting to safe mode pressing f8 on start up and going to system restore to a time before you did this fiddling

Thanks for reply.

I have tried ordinary restore but it does not go back far enough.

Is the F8 method you mention a different way to achieve further reversal?
