I recently installed an S3 Graphics Savage /IX graphice card and now the Device Manager always shows three monitors:

Digital Flat Panel (640X480
Generic Television
Plug and Play Monitor

I am using Windows XP Pro. When I boot, the system always comes up in 640X480 then I have to go into Device Manager, uninstall the flat panel and the generic television before I can change to a higher resolution.

The manufactures web site is no help. I have loaded the latest driver I can find.

Thanks in advance.

Did you disable the onboard graphics card in BIOS or change the setting to AGP there?

Reboot your PC and Press DEL on start (F10 for Compaqs)

This should bring up your CMOS Setup utility

Scroll to Advanced Chipset Features
Press Enter

Scroll down to Init Display First
Use the +/- keys on your numeric keypad to change to AGP slot

Press ESC

Scroll to Save and Exit

Press Y to save

Reboot your PC
