my wow downloader hangs after anywhere from 5min to 1/2 hr then i get windows would you like to send error report, only happens with downloader which is peer to peer,using a toshiba a70 laptop 1.5g ram,and cable modem

Don't play the game but it's my understanding that WOW uses torrenting to download updates. Not sure but even though it's for a legit purpose you may not get help here due to forum rules against p2p assistance.

There is an option to turn off the p2p part and just have the direct http.
I found that to be faster for me as there is no way of limiting your upload bandwidth. That would choke my connection, trying to upload faster than was good for it.

Anyhow.. have you gotten any of the downloads?... I have noticed that they will release the download info well before any actual download is offered.
The latest patch is offered, yet nothing is ready to download..

So my guess is your trying to download .... well... nothing.. So it gives up and closes...
Or is it downloading then crashes?

The downloader was stuck at 0% on my laptop for hours. I really dont like Blizzards downloader. On large patch days, I end up having to go to a mirror or some other place like fileplanet and download the patch there.
