Works update detention?

On startup, I have Microsoft works update detention checked to start on startup. It is needed? Its located in c:\Program Files\Microsoft Works\WK Detect.exe. If its not needed, it is safe to shut if off without damaging your system.

It is not needed in your startups. Uncheck it in mscofig.
