Word 2007 losing proof of spelling & grammar

In Word 2007, on XP platform, once a doc has been spell checked and all the red and green wiggly lines have gone, and the doc has been saved, if you open the doc in another area, say, as an attachment in an email, all the red and green swiggly lines reappear!
Is there any way to stop this happening? That is, to secure the doc in some way to show that it has been proofread? Thanx
