have you tried uninstalling, then reinstalling the software/drivers for the mouse?

Wireless Optical Mouse Problems
Hi,
I got a labtec wireless optical mouse and it doesn't work on my computer. I have got it to work on other computers, but on mine it just detects the usb device and the mouse pointer doesn't move. When I restart the computer I get a warning saying I should connect the usb device to the port on the rear of the computer, but that doesn't work either. I have tried switching channels on the mouse and I tried moving closer to the usb plug in, but neither worked. I am fairly sure I installed the software correctly for the mouse.
My computer is a Dell, pentium 4 2.0 Ghz, with 512 Mb RAM.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
