I have two computers hardwired with the wireless Linksys -G router and a Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop. I had the network set up and all was fine. My wife got a prompt to upgrade explorer to 7.0 and now the laptop will not connect. When I try to highlight my home network and click repair, it states that if cannot find my IP address. How do I get the Dell wireless card to read the IP address? I tried resetting the cable modem and router but to no avail. I'm extremely new to networking so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try this (this will not solve the problem, but will provide some info).

Click "Start">Run

Then type: "cmd" and press enter

At the command prompt, type "ipconfig /all"

You can copy and paste the text by clicking on the upper left hand corner of the window for a drop down menu. Select "edit", and then "Select All". The colors in the window will invert (meaning the whole window is selected). Click on that same box/icon in the upper left corner, click edit again, and hit "copy".

You can then paste the contents up in a reply.

This is just to test and see if you are still getting a connection to the router through the wireless NIC card. And if you do, then it's a problem that can be narrowed down to IE7, and not windows.
