I get the above message plus:
"this application has failed to start because SHLWAPI.dll was not found. re-installing the application may fix this problem"
everytime we start up my friends laptop, the computer then restarts and whatever mode i try to start it in (safe mode etc) that message still comes up and the computer reboots.
This started happening after i uninstalled windows service pack 2 because it was saying that the pack had not installed properly.
is there any way of saving the PC without wiping everything off, and if not how do i format it without any windows disk as my friend has mislaid all the CDs his laptop came with.
