I think my PC is infected with a virus. It is stuck in a continuous startup loop. I get an error message stating:
SAS Window: winlogon.exe - Application Error
I'm given an option to enter to terminate the program or cancel to debug. Either option restarts the system again. It won't work in safe mode or any thing else. Please help!

do a repair install by booting from the xp cd and choose install
ignore the first repair option and continue with install
when windows finds the previous installation
the repair
if you have sp2 installed you will not get the repair option only new install
so slipstream sp2 into the xp disk using nlite
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4324.html
then use the slipstreamed disk to run the repair

nlite is simple to use,it tells you what to do as you go along
first it asks for your xp disk and copies it to your h/d
then it ask for the sp and copies that as well
then it is just mouse clicks until it asks you to put in a blank cd to burn the slipstreamed disk
it gives you the option to include your key or anything else you wish to include, thats why i recommend it because it's so easy to use
