Hi...

The other day I tried to remove old nvidia drivers to re install new ones but every time I re boooted it picked up the old drivers and re installed them..

So I followed some onlione instructions from a 3dguru.com web site and I was advised to re boot in safe mode and uninstall that way. However when the system powered up it gave me 2 x accounts,

Administrator and My Account

I thought I was administrator, why is this becuase if I re boot as normal it does not give me the Admistrator login but the name I first created when I installed windows...

Or is this acount only used for restore points etc etc

Could some one explain please.....

Thx

The Administrator account is the one you use when you first set up a workstation or member server. You use this account before you create an account for yourself. The Administrator account is a member of the Administrators group on the workstation or member server.

The Administrator account can never be deleted, disabled, or removed from the Administrators local group, ensuring that you never lock yourself out of the computer by deleting or disabling all the administrative accounts. This feature sets the Administrator account apart from other members of the Administrators local group.

**From the Windows XP Help and Support section**

It only shows up on Safe Mode as this is most likely the only time you will need it - to fix a problem. Whilst your account has Administrator "Priviledges", the Admin "Account" is the omnipotent one and can do ANYTHING!!
