Hi people

9 times out of ten when i shut my computer down it actually restarts! It is really annoying cause more often or not it will shut down the second time i try.

Has anybody else suffered this problem and can anybody give me any advice to stop this happening please.

Go to Start | Control Panel | Power Options (Performance and Maintenance).

Open the APM tab, and make sure it's enabled (checked).

If above is set or doesn't resolve the issue, in your PC's BIOS settings, check to see if you have a Plug and Play option. If you do, try toggling this setting (off if it's on, and vice versa).

Also I know it sounds wierd but if you are logged in and just hit shut down it usually always restarts back to the welcome screen.

If you LOG OFF first then hit turn off PC from the bottom left corner it always shuts down or it hasn't failed me yet.
