I put together this computer about 8 months ago. I am running windows xp Pro.

Comp Specs
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400 CPU
ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe Mobo
2gigs Corsair Rams
16x PCI Express VC
2 Raptor HDs (SATA)

Initally it took some troubleshooting to install windows xp pro. I do not have a floppy drive and therefore I used nlite to modify my xp pro installation disk to add in the drivers for the sata drives.

I wish to do my first fresh reinstalltion since I bought the computer. However, upon booting from my nlite xp pro disk, the process freezes at the inital setup at the "ACPI embedded controller drivers" part. I vaguely remember this problem when I first setup the computer. My workaround at the time was to toggle something in my bios (I read this trick off a forum). Unfortunately I cannot remember what to disable/enable. Any help, whether I am on the right track or not, would be appreciated.

Again, to be clear, the computer works fine. I am typing this message on it right now. I am just not able to format the HD.
