You tried Re-Installing your Enet Card? should help it get detected again....

try this:

***FIRST SETUP A RESTORE POINT***

1. Goto Control Panel

2. Double Click SYSTEM icon

3. Click the Hardware TAB

4. Click Device Manager

5. Find Network Adapters

6. Right Click on your NIC (Network Interface Card)

7. Click Uninstall

8. Once it Disapears then Reboot Your Computer

9. It should begin re-installing itself upon start up of windows, If not you may have to supply the Drivers for it off the Driver Disk.

10. It should work now, Note you have to run the Internet Connection Wizzard and setup the Connection again.

I don't think the problem has anything to do with your ethernet card since defrag doesn't work. The error you posted isn't anything like any error I've seen in Event Viewer. Is that a copy and paste from Event Viewer?

Here's an example of text from Event Viewer:

"Your computer has lost the lease to its IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx on the Network Card with network address xxxxxxxxxxxx."

I replaced the actual numbers with X's, but it's an example. I doubt you opened an Event Viewer error and only saw:

"SRV#001

CLED Error"

DoubleHelix is right and you need to go back to completing defrag. First thought is run checkdisk. Open My Computer, right click C drive choose properties, Tools, error checking and check both boxes, start and you will have to reboot to run. Then try defrag again. If still no, try in safe mode.

thats what it look like mmmmk and it automaticly pops up when i start up or restart my computer.

it gets messed up when i post it but i think you should be able to see that the error name (SRV#001) is the windows name
and (CLED Error) is the message

outbreak:

i tried what you said and all i got was the device is not suported then i tryed to use the drivers from the cd and it started to install it then it stoped and said it could not install the drivers.

I'd suggest you start by resetting the BIOS to factory defaults. It sounds like something went south which locked up the system. The missing Ethernet would seem to indicate the hardware is not being detected. Hopefully, it's just disabled in the bios. :)

its not disabled in the bios because i checked the bios and there is no onboard lan in it ether so what I have decided to do is use a PCI ethernet card and see if I can get it to work through it if I can well thats good, but I still want to fix the origoinal problem as well not let it continue to be messed up......
