I'm running XP Pro. I was running just fine for over 5 months. Then when I went to start it up it got stuck in some kind of "loop". The NVidia video card "stats" that show in the upper left displayed as normal. A bland screen, for a few seconds, then after that it seems to almost reboot itself, and repeat.

I then tried to create an XP boot disk from Microsoft's site. I created this boot disk on a 2000 pro machine. After going through 5 of the 6 boot disks on the XP machine and trying to boot it up, I get this error:

ntfs.sys unexpected error (4103) line 5010 in D:\xpclient\base\boot\setup\setup.c

then it just reboots after I hit enter.

Is this Win XP error because I made the boot disk on a Win 2000 machine?

I kind of smell a virus here, but I'm not sure :(

Any help or suggestions would be awesome!

Hi

The first thing I would try is seeing if I could boot up in safe mode.
Boot the pc up and tap F8 before while the black XP screen is loading. Select Safe Mode and logon with the admin account.

Just a suggestion for now.
