Hi and Welcome to TSG!

FIrst the basic suggestion. Press ctrl + alt and any of the arrow keys.

Now the advanced stuff if the above doesn't work, check your graphics card settings.

Do you happen to know what graphics card you have?
If not go to start > run > type dxdiag
When asked click yes
Wait for it to finish the scan, and then go to the display 1 tab, and tell me the manufacturer and name.

Kind Regards
Anthony

Goto to the desktop and right click then left click properties then left click on settings.

My screen resolution is 1024x768

If yours has the smaller number to the left then your resolution is set wrong I would change it to either 800x600 or 1024x768 and answer yes to keep the settings and then exit out and reboot the computer.

Have you checked the Advanced Tab for the display properties? This is usually done with some 3rd party software, so check the advanced properties, or sometimes it's even integrated into the right click menus.
