Windows XP crash with Zone Alarm Pro

Every time I try to run the ZoneAlarmPro 4 program my computer automatically re-boots. I'm running Windows XP on a new HP pavillion. The first time I installed ZAP the computer crashed and I had to re-load the OS.
I've uninstalled ZoneAlarm and installed and ran SpySweeper but upon re-installing ZAP, the re-boot problem continued (without having lost the OS, gracias a dios).
I need a firewall. Please advise!

Are you using Zone Alarm version 4? Right now they have a version 5.5 released. Try upgrading to the newer version, and see what happens.
