Since we really have no way of verifying who you are, I'm not sure it would be legal for us to try and help you access a university's network.

well its not like im trying to hack into it i already have my student log on, its more of a technical issue with my specific PC, i prefer not to post a photo of my student university ID to prove that i study here if thats what youre implying, i get what you mean thoughSince we really have no way of verifying who you are, I'm not sure it would be legal for us to try and help you access a university's network.

yeah i understand thats true but its just helping me connect to a typical WPA2-Entreprise security network, youre right with the fact that this is a public forum but without a student log in they cant really do muchAnything we post here in a public forum could easily be used by someone else.
Hello, i try to connect my personal computer from my dorm to my university wifi, which ahs been working until it randomly stopped connecting, when i go to networks on the bottom right, i click on the university network, it prompts me for my student username and log in, which it always does i enter it, then it says windows was unable to connect to (wifi name). i really dont know what the issue is because im the only one with this issue, all my friends can connect, and my phone connects freely, and when i turn on hotspot on my phone, my computer can connect to it, but not to this specific wifi that i need to connect to.Exactly what do you do to try to connect, and what step fails? Any error messages?
i contacted the IT department and they said since im the only one w the issue they cant help me, so i was htinking there might be a virus or a problem on my computer thats preventing me from connecting to another network, btu when i was able to connect to my phone hotspot that told me otherwise, ive done a scan on Windows Defender which is what i use and it said my computer was clean, do you recommend i download a new antivirus on it using my phone's hotspot 3g?The fact that your student username is requested must mean (I think!) that the computer is communicating over the wireless network to a university server. So, I think, the IT department must look at this and determine why the failure. It may indeed be a problem with your computer, but I don't know how to troubleshoot without some idea of the ways that this failure can occur.
I guess one possibility is security software on your computer. What security software (firewall, anti-virus, etc.) is, or ever was, on the system?
also i forgot to mention it doesnt open a browser to ask for my login, as soon as i click on connect it asks me for my username and password at the bottom right of my screen, before even attempting to connect, then after i put my user details in it says connecting then gives me the error. it doesnt really connect at all to the networki contacted the IT department and they said since im the only one w the issue they cant help me, so i was htinking there might be a virus or a problem on my computer thats preventing me from connecting to another network, btu when i was able to connect to my phone hotspot that told me otherwise, ive done a scan on Windows Defender which is what i use and it said my computer was clean, do you recommend i download a new antivirus on it using my phone's hotspot 3g?
What is "it"? I assumed that "it" is a university server, that could only be asking that over the wireless network.it asks me for my username and password at the bottom right of my screen,
That's the step that fails--no browser redirect? The request for username and password at the bottom right of the screen should not happen?also i forgot to mention it doesnt open a browser to ask for my login
