Windows Vista Viao to Dell Inspiron

This is basically a questions only. Couldn't find the answer else so I am looking to this forum for answers. My last post was about my Viao laptop browser showing a history and bookmark system not functional. But this is about Viao Transfer Support thing. I want to know if I can use the Viao Transfer Support application to transfer data such as history and bookmarks even when its not functional on my Viao laptop to a Dell Inspiron laptop? Is this possible? And will bookmarks and history transfer over?

P.S- All the info I found was a viao to viao laptop. But it doesn't say anything about another laptop.
Also, this is not about reviving my Viao laptop from my last post, its about transferring Viao data to Inspiron laptop because I can't find a way to get the history and bookmark thing to be functional again.

Which browser were you using on the Vaio laptop?

I used 4 browsers, but ice dragon was the one I used most and had all my bookmarks and history, I also use ice dragon on my Inspiron laptop too.

Apparenty Ice Dragon is based on Firefox and you can Export and Import Bookmarks as HTML as shown below (source :- https://www.raymond.cc/blog/convert-and-transfer-browser-bookmarks-to-another-web-browser/)

Mozilla Firefox (and compatibles)

Press the key combination of Ctrl+Shift+B to bring up the Bookmarks library, then click the Import and Backup drop down menu and select Export Bookmarks to HTML. Give the file a name and save location and click to save it.

This also works in Firefox based browsers like Waterfox, Cyberfox, Pale Moon, Tor Browser, Comodo Ice Dragon etc.

I want to know if I can do it through Viao Transfer support. I am transferring bookmarks from a Viao laptop to a Inspiron laptop. I am doing this bc the “history and bookmark system not functional” still exist on my Viao laptop and when I tried to restore it from backup, it gives me a “backup could not be processed” message.

If the history and bookmarks are NOT working on the VIAO, then it is highly unlikely you can copy them and then place those copied files on the other laptop.

Did you ever replace the apparently faulty drive in the VIAO

To place the bookmarks from the Vista Viao on the Dell - both from and to the Ice Dragon browser you folow this
Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer | Firefox Help (mozilla.org)
basically
backup to USB pen
then connect that to the Dell and follow the procedure as outlined on the link
You will need to follow the backup file procedure as you cannot sync the Vista Viao to the Dell

Don’t even have the side things like history and unsorted bookmarks on.

It would be of considerable help if you could answer that apparent drive fault question.

But it was fixed over and over again by a repair man.

In that case the repair man has done well to get the bookmarks and history copied for you
IF you refer to that and not just to the disk errors.

If you refer to to the disk errors and you cannot access the bookmarks and history then IMHO on that laptop it is unworthy of the effort.
On the Dell create them by going to the sites you need to bookmark
