In Windows 98, if you find logo.sys and rename it to logo.old, I believe you will still end up with the Windows Splash screen at start up.
It is more likely that you will not find it with a search because it is hidden away inside another file.
An easy way to get rid of the splash screen is to change logo=1 to logo=0 in your msdos.sys file.

Logo wasnt in there so i had to put it in there myself hope it works.
