I'm on winodws xp pro, service pack 1

now, when I go into the properties of my dvd rom shortcut, and I try to click on the general tab, I get the following error;
"the name 'I;\' specified in the target box is no valid. make sure the path and file name are correct."
I went into my computer, and the drive is indeed the "I" drive. What can I do about this?
when I go into my computer, under type, it doesn't recognize the dvd as a dvd drive ,it says cd drive.
