I have tried everything to get Windows Media Player 9 to work in Mini Player mode, but to no avail. I have followed the Help instructions, i.e:

To use the new Mini-Player

1. Right-click an empty area of the Windows taskbar (such as below the system clock), point to Toolbars, and then select Windows Media Player. This step enables the feature and must only be performed once. The Player will dock the mini-Player in your Windows taskbar whenever you minimize it.

2. Minimize the Player to view the Mini-Player.

This does not work. I have Windows XP Pro SP1, and Windows Media Player 9.00.00.3075. Can anyone help ?

I can't think of any reason as to why that would not work. I just discovered the minimode earlier this week and it works perfectly fine for me and I followed those instructions.

Is your taskbar "unlocked" because mine is, but I don't think that would have anything to do with it, just a suggestion really. Also you might check windowsupdate.com to see if you have the most recent version of media player.
