If that doesn't work, just try searching the registry for the string "SAVRTPEL.VXD".

There is also a reg entry from them to clean it up.

Likely you can simpley delete that key to solve the problem.

It seems over night my boot-up time went from approx. one minute to ten minutes to boot-up.
I have run Nortons virus scan , No infected files, I have re-configed, No help. I have checked Scheduled Task, none running at boot-up (start-up).I have uninstalled all unused or not needed Programs, files & short cuts, No help. I used my start-up disk, no help. I went to safe mode to boot-up, no help.and it's still slow to open web pages. I have Windows Me with lots hard drive space and lots memory.
I know there's a Bug in there someplace But, I cant find it. Appreciate a suggestion on what to try next. Thanks, Bugged Out E. J.

revised suggestion:

[Options]
BootMulti=0
BootGUI=1
BootMenu=1
BootMenuDefault=2
BootmenuDelay=1
Dblspace=0
Drvspace=0
DoubleBuffer=0
Network=0
disableLog=0

Or you can download and run the bootlog analyzer and see if there is a specific application taking a long time.

Boot Log Analyzer for Windows 95/98 from Gemini Affinitas Ltd (v1.22)

FREE Boot Log Analyzer utility to help in identifying Windows95/98 boot-up problems.
Looks at your Windows95 BOOTLOG.TXT file and calculates the time taken to load each driver etc, in order to help in locating any cause of lengthy boot-up times. The displayed result can be sorted by loading duration, filtered to show only those items with long durations or which reported failure, and saved to a text file.

Are you sure you are posting in the right place.

The original problem was an incomplete uninstall of Norton Internet Security which resulted in a SAVRTPEL.VXD error.

Nothing about boot times etc. Typically, editing the MSDOS.SYS file doesn't really affect the boot time that much. Double check what programs are starting automatically using msconfig

Try running serveral good spyware scanning programs.
